Commitment to Student and Student Learning
I believe that a great teacher displays a commitment to student and student learning. I believe that a commitment to students and student learning can be achieved by creating a positive teaching and learning environment. I think that committing to your students means caring about their well being, and showing them you care. This means knowing your students as individuals and creating an inclusive environment in which all students feel accepted and included. This can be done by getting to know all of your students and giving your students the opportunity to share their opinions and thoughts.
I think that committing to student learning means providing your students with the best possible learning environment. This can be done by creating a physical environment that is conducive to the learning needs of the students. Committing to student learning also involves having knowledge of classroom management strategies that can be utilized in order to minimize any disruptions to the learning environment. Finally I believe that a commitment to students and student learning means committing to all of your students, regardless of their individual learning needs. A commitment to student learning involves assessing and responding to the individual learning needs of all your students and giving them the opportunities to succeed.
Ultimately, if teachers show a commitment to students and student learning they will be providing students with the tools to succeed in school, because students will feel included, accepted and cared for.
